ReRack is a US-only marketplace for used bowling balls. On every sale we hold the buyer's payment until the ball is delivered and inspected, then release it to the seller. Here's how the whole thing works.
You pay by card through Stripe Checkout. ReRack is the merchant of record — the money sits with us, not the seller, until the ball arrives and you've had a chance to look at it.
If tracking never shows delivery within 21 days of shipment, the order is escalated to ReRack support automatically and payout stays paused while we sort it out.
Listings show factory specs from our curated, USBC-based ball database, plus the seller's own condition grade. Every listing asks the seller for a photo of the pin and one of the holes — see the condition-grade guide.
The buyer pays shipping. The rate is quoted live from the carrier at checkout for the buyer's ZIP code — that's why the buy form asks for it before sending you to Stripe. If a live quote isn't available, a flat $14.99 applies instead.
ReRack buys the label — the seller prints it from the order page and drops the box off. Sellers who'd rather use their own account can ship however they like and paste the carrier and tracking number into the order page — tracking is what starts the inspection clock either way.
Every ReRack sale ships. There is no local-pickup option, which means buyer protection covers every order on the site without exception.
Sellers: how to pack a ball so it survives the trip is its own guide — how to pack a bowling ball. Why the packing photo is what protects you in a damage claim, and the rest of the policy, are on the shipping & packing page.
Full schedule with a worked example on the Fees & payouts page.
Buyers can report a problem from the order page any time between payment and the close of the 48-hour inspection window. Describe what's wrong — wrong ball, undisclosed cracks, damage in transit, never arrived.
Reporting pauses the payout immediately. ReRack support then resolves it one of three ways: release the funds to the seller, refund the buyer, or dismiss the claim — which starts a fresh 48-hour window rather than paying out on the spot.
Each of these is published so a decision can be checked against a rule rather than taken on trust.
You can message a seller from any listing page. Keep the conversation on ReRack: messages that share contact information to move a deal off-platform may be flagged for review, and an off-platform deal carries no payment protection at all — there's nothing for us to hold, refund, or dispute.
After delivery, buyers can rate a seller 1–5 stars, once per order. Ratings show on that seller's listings.

What each grade means, and what to look for when you photograph or inspect a ball.
The box, the two methods, and the shake test that decides whether it arrives. Counterintuitive but load-bearing: smaller and tighter beats bigger and softer.
Span, thumb hole, bridge and pitch — what each one means, where to find yours, and how close a drilled ball has to be before it fits you without plugging and redrilling.
